Plaza take lead in Santiago League Finals

Club Fernando Plaza Valerio earned the first win in the Santiago League Finals. They held off GUG 103-92 in the best-of-seven series opener. Oliver Garcia (188-G-1996, agency: Ballerz Unlimited LLC) scored 25 points to pace the winners. Devin Brooks (186-G-1992, college: Creighton) contributed 20 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists in the victory. Plaza eked out a 42-38 halftime lead. They extended the margin to 8 points at the final break and rallied to the victory in the fourth quarter. Juan Guerrero (205-F-1993) notched 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Juan Miguel Suero (196-F-1993) netted 21 points in the loss.
